Our first month in school has gone very quickly. Students are back into the routine of school and busy learning. We are excited about the one to one technology this year. All students, grades K-6 at Heritage Elementary, have the use of an iPad in their classroom. Students will be doing math facts, spelling, Compass Odyssey and a new program, Moby Max which offers grade level skills as well as skills required for state assessments. Our math, reading, social studies and science all have eLearning components that will be utilized by teachers
We are pushing hard this year to get students to learn math facts. It is often those math facts which prevent our children from performing well on assessment. Grade levels 1-6 have set Accelerated Reader (AR) goals and students are already taking tests on books they have read in class and at home.
Once again EACS will take advantage of eLearning days. We will be sending home a practice eLearning lesson during the next few weeks so students and parents can practice finding the eLearning lessons in Canvas. In addition, parents can see the classroom weekly newsletter in the canvas calendar.
Please note that candles will be in on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. They will be available to be picked up anytime between 3:00 PM-7:00 PM.
