iPad Misuse of Technology Discipline Plan

 

Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) was designed to protect minors from inappropriate internet content.  Heritage Elementary is dedicated to the appropriate use of student technology and has adopted the following policy with inappropriate use of iPads and technology.

 

iPads are property of East Allen County Schools and should be used only for educational purposes during school hours.  If students are playing non-educational games, social networking, messaging or texting, streaming videos or music during class or at any other time deemed inappropriate by the school administration, restrictions will be placed on the student’s iPad. 

 

Heritage Elementary iPad Policy

1st Offense – student warning

2nd Offense – parent contact and student assigned consequence with iPad confiscated for remainder of day

3rd Offense – parent contact and suspension of iPad for 2 weeks

4th Offense – written referral to the office with iPad confiscated for 1 month 

5th Offense – written referral to the office with iPad confiscated for remainder of semester
