Heritage Elementary School
Dear Patriot Families,
As we near the midst of the third quarter our students are working hard to prepare for our end of year assessments. We have seen tremendous growth from our students on their mid-year assessments. While this is great news, our work is not done! We are now on the most critical stretch of the school year as foundations skills are being taught with fidelity as we prepare our Little Patriots for end of the year assessments and promotion to the next grade level. Parents, please be mindful of the many assessments that are the new norm in March and April. These assessments include IREAD3 - for second and third grade students, DIBELS - kindergarten through 2nd grade, IREADY math - kindergarten through 2nd grade, NWEA - 3rd through 6th grade, and the ILEARN state assessment. Your child's attendance is crucial during the next couple of months as we prepare them to take each of these critical assessments. In closing, I am looking forward to seeing continued growth by our students as we reach the end of the school year. Our teachers are passionate about the crucial role they play to inspire and educate each and everyone of our students. Both our students and staff members' are working hard to solidify a strong academic foundation for our children. W.E.B. De Bois said it best, when he said, "Education and work are the levers to uplift a people."
Sincerely,
Mr. Walter
